Year 1830. Following Jane Austen’s death, her sister Cassandra sets off to visit her friend Isabella, harbouring a secret hope of finding, in the house, letters from the host’s late wife—Eliza—who had corresponded with Jane for many years. Cassandra is convinced that if those letters fall into the wrong hands, they could damage the reputation of the great writer.
