Markiyan Sych, an investigator from Kyiv, arrives for rehabilitation in the picturesque Carpathian village of Yaseni after being wounded. Instead of a relaxing holiday, he finds himself caught up in a whirlwind of mysterious events and is involved in investigating a series of deaths.The local police officer Basyuk wants to close the case as soon as possible, and the locals blame evil spirits for everything. Markiyan finds out that everyone around him is hiding the truth, has their own secrets and is afraid to talk about the past.
