Родился 19 января 1966 в Питсбурге, штат Пенсильвания — американский кинорежиссёр. В начале своей карьеры ставил видеоклипы популярным артистам, как Тони Брэкстон и Принс. В дальнейшем стал кинорежиссёром. Широкую известность приобрел после фильма Тренировочный день, отмеченного премией Американской киноакадемии.
С 1999 года женат на актрисе Леле Рошон. Воспитывают троих детей.
