Ларри Бейнхарт провел два года в Оксфорде, Англия, где был членом Raymond Chandler Fulbright Fellow. Заядлый горнолыжник, в прошлом - инструктор по горным видам спорта. Одну зиму провел в Санкт-Антон, Австрия и несколько зим катался на лыжах в Вербье, Швейцария.

Ларри Бейнхарт более всего известен, автор политического детектива American Hero (Американский герой,1993), который был адаптирован для фильм - политической пародии "Wag the Dog".
