Родился 30 мая 1945 года в Ленинграде.
Режиссер.
В 1970 окончил отделение театральной режиссуры в Ленинградском институте культуры им. Н.К.Крупской, в 1978 — режиссерский факультет ВГИКа (мастерская Ю.Егорова).
До учебы во ВГИКе был руководителем самодеятельных театральных студий, преподавал в Одесском культпросветучилище.
