Родился 19 декабря 1927 года в Кривом Роге, Днепропетровская область.
Народный артист Украинской ССР (1983).
Окончил Днепропетровское театральное училище (1948).В 1950-1963 годах — актёр областного украинского музыально-драматического театра в Черновцах, в 1963-1982 годах — актёр Киевского украинского драматического театра имени Ивана Франко. В кино — с 1958 года, с 1982 года работает только в кино.
