В возрасте двадцати трех лет подписал контракт с компанией "HSI Productions", а в 2006 году получил премию "MVPA" за режиссерский дебют года - музыкальное видео "Звезды" группы "Switchfoot".

В 2007 году выиграл свою первую премию "MTV Music Awards" Латинской Америки за свою работу с мексиканской поп-звездой Белиндой.

Дебютировал на телевидении работой над сериалом "Легион экстраординарных танцоров" (2010).

В 2012 году Спир стал режиссером своей первой полнометражной картины - "Шаг вперед 4".
