В кино дебютировал в возрасте 15-ти лет в фильме Бориса Рыцарева "Огоньки".
В 1981 году окончил ГИТИС, курс Константина Михайлова. В 1981-1990 годах — актёр театра имени Н.В. Гоголя.С 1990 года — актёр Театра имени А.С. Пушкина.
Супруга актёра-Анна Легчилова.
