Родился 23 февраля 1942 года в г. Верхняя Салда Свердловской области.
В 1968 году окончил ГИТИС (РАТИ). В 1965-67 годах проходил службу в команде артистов-военнослужащих Театра Советской (Российской) Армии. По завершении службы был принят в труппу театра.
Заслуженный артист РФ (1993).
