Алексей Серебряков родился 3 июня 1964 года в Москве. Сниматься в кино начал ещё школьником. Окончил Государственный институт театрального искусства им. А. В. Луначарского (1986, мастерская О. Табакова) и работал актером в Сызранском драматическом театре имени А. Н. Толстого.

Актёр Театра-студии под руководством О. Табакова (1986—1991). С сентября 2009 года актёр театра «Ленком», играл в мюзикле «Метро» театра «Московская Оперетта» и в антрепризном спектакле «Новый».

В начале 2012 года эмигрировал в Канаду.
