С раннего возраста начал сниматься в кино, дебютировав ролью в сериале«Путь на небеса» («Highway to Heaven»). В 2001 году написал свой первый сценарий к фильму «Маниакальный» («Manic»).
Наиболее известен сценариями картин «Скотт Пилигрим против всех» («Scott Pilgrim vs. the World») и «Мачо и ботан» («21 Jump Street»).
