С 9 лет начал играть в театре.
Дебютировал на телевидении в 1977 году. В 2008 году озвучил Гая Хейнса — персонажа игры «James Bond 007: Quantum of Solace».
До 2004 года был женат на актрисе Алекс Белкурт. В настоящее время живёт в Лос-Анджелесе со своим партнёром, сценаристом Джоном Хартмером.
