Цанг родился в Шанхае.
Цанг учился в средней школе в Ва Ян потом в колледже в Гонконге , а затем Ва Ян колледжа, Коулун .
Цзан вернулся в Гонконг в начале 1960 — х годов как архитектор , но было скучно на работе и он подался к актерскому мастерству.
Женат на Чиао Чиао.
