Родился 25 февраля 1925 года в с.Хомивка, Житомирская область.Окончил актерский (1959) и режиссерский (1957) факультеты Киевского государственного института театрального искусства им.И.Карпеко-Карого.Был актером и главным режиссером Черновицкого музыкально-драматического театра им. О.Кобылянской.Снялся в фильме выдающегося итальянского режиссера Франческо Рози "Перемирие" (La Tregua, The Truce,1996).В кино с 1957 года.

Заслуженный артист Украинской ССР (1964).
