Родился 6 ноября 1946 года.
В 1969 году окончил Школу-студию МХАТ (курс В.П.Маркова).В 1969-73 годах — актер Московского театра Сатиры, с 1974 — актер ЦАТСА (ныне — ЦАТРА). С 1995 года работает в Московском театре им. Моссовета.Народный артист РФ (1994).
