It turns out that on July 20, 1969, American astronauts landed on the moon and discovered a crashed Autobot ship and the remains of robots. The mission was classified, but forty years later it emerged as a stumbling block in relations between the humans and the Autobots. Sam Witwicky and his new girlfriend Carly find themselves in the midst of a new global battle between Decepticons and Autobots.
