In the first half of the eighteenth century, the drama of Oleksa Dovbush, his difficult love and struggle for a decent life for his people unfolds in the mysterious Carpathians, and it is here that the secret of his immortality is immortalised. The band of opryshky led by two brothers, Ivan and Oleksa Dovbush, their elusiveness and daring made them a source of hope for the people and fear for their enemies. But the brothers' paths diverge, and the landlords do their best to suppress the freedom-loving moods of the Carpathians. Who will win this duel: death or immortality?
