Arthur Volkov is an unprincipled, wealthy, arrogant, and highly successful lawyer. For a generous fee, he is willing to compromise his conscience and defend any criminal. However, everything in life has a price.After another triumph in court, the lawyer returns home to find his wife murdered. Volkov suspects his client of involvement in the crime. The police openly hint at Volkov's guilt. After his wife's death, Volkov's life falls apart. He feels guilty, loses his job and may even go to prison.
